Mary Farrah Leni Fawcett (Actress / Model)
02 Feb, 1947 - 25 Jun, 2009

Born with a first name Mary, she later changed it to Farrah.Invited by a celebrity publicist, Farrah pursued a modeling career in 1968 with the reluctant approval of her parents. In 1976 she posed in a simple one piece red swimsuit poster, which sold over 10 million copies. This seemingly innocent poster shot her to super stardom overnight. She starred in many movies and in 1977, earned a People's Choice Award for Favorite Television Performer in a new television program. Her parents were James William Fawcett (1917-2010) and Pauline Fawcett (1914-2005).

Fawcett dated Lee Majors for five years before marrying him him on July 28th, 1973. They separated in 1979. She later dated actor Ryan O'Neil. They stayed together for 15 years. In 2006, Fawcett was diagnosed with cancer. Farrah died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 62. Farrah Fawcett was a beautiful woman from her early years to the day she passed. She will always be remembered.

Truly born to be a star. This poster was the catapult that made her famous and the interesting part of this shot, is that she picked the suit herself, and did her own hair and makeup.
