ABOUT

John Singleton was a screenwriter, director, and producer. HIs work includes Boyz n the Hood, Poetic Justice, Higher Learning, Rosewood, Shaft, Baby Boy, Hustle and Flow, and Four Brothers. His films had elements of violence and crime. His writing earned him three awards from the university he attended, the School of Cinematic Arts , University of Southern California. In 2019, he died after suffering a stroke.
